The UAE wins a membership of ISO Council
The UAE has
won a membership of the ISO council 2020-2022, in an international vote in Cape
Town, South Africa, last September, after the country received a majority of
the votes of member states of the General Assembly of the International
Organization, where the Emirates Authority for Standards and Metrology
"The country represented 64 votes out of 108 in the elections, while
Denmark received 44 votes.
The UAE is
once again entering a global electoral race and winning, in a way that proves
its presence and its positive regional and global role, especially in the
sector of standardization and infrastructure quality, based on its
international reputation and civilization renaissance in various fields.
The UAE's membership in the International Organization for Standardization Council will enhance the UAE's international standing in the international organizations concerned with standardization and contribute to the realization of the UAE Vision 2021 to be among the best countries in the world by the Golden Jubilee of the Union in 2071, and promises more distinguished UAE contributions globally in the future.
