Abu Dhabi, UAE: 13 September 2021: The UAE and Estonia have held bilateral talks aimed a deepening  collaboration and cooperation across a variety of high-growth industries, such as advanced technology, life sciences, biotechnology , cybersecurity, space exploration and renewable energy.
Her Excellency Sarah bint Youssef Al Amiri, Minister of State for Advanced Technology at the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology met with Andres Sutt, Minister of Entrepreneurship and Information Technology for the Republic of Estonia, and a senior delegation of high-ranking officials. They discussed enhancing research and development efforts to accelerate industrial growth, encourage the adoption of fourth industrial revolution technologies, and promote the sustainable development of smart cities. 
Her Excellency highlighted the UAE’s new industrial strategy – Operation 300bn – and its aim to raise the industrial sector’s contribution to the country’s gross domestic product from AED 133 billion to AED 300 billion by 2031. She also spoke about the importance of creating an attractive and competitive ecosystem that establishes the UAE as a global hub for advanced industries, attracts foreign direct investment, empowers talent, supports startups and SMEs, and advances the nation’s knowledge-driven economy.
Her Excellency Sarah bint Youssef Al Amiri, Minister of State for Advanced Technology, said: “The UAE and Estonia have a deep and strategic bilateral relationship built on decades of diplomatic and economic cooperation. As one of the most digitally advanced nations in Europe, Estonia has continued to set an example for world-class tech-led transformation and innovation. We are pleased to discuss how we can continue working together to exchange knowledge and expertise, as well advance the sustainable development of future industries that takes the Emirati-Estonian partnership to a new level.”
The bilateral meeting was also attended by the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology’s Mohammed Al Qasim, Director of Technology Development and Adoption, and Dr. Abdullah Al Mahri, Director of Investment and Stakeholder Management. Estonia was also represented by Dr. Jaan Reinhold, Ambassador of Estonia to the UAE, Birgit Lao, Ambassador-at-Large at Estonia’s Ministry of Education and Research, Ano Vasek, Adviser at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications, Risto Kaljurand, Adviser to the Minister of Entrepreneurship and Information Technology, and Ude Les Pino, Deputy Head of Mission at the Estonian Embassy.
