AENC Organizational Chart
The Emirates National Committee (AENC) Board is the governing and executive body of the Committee that reports to the UAE Steering Committee. The ENC board shall consist of:
- President
- Vice President
- Secretary
- Assistant Secretary
- Standardization Management Committee Chair
- Conformity Management Committee Chair
- Capacity-Building Committee Chair
The Advisory Group is responsible for making recommendations on the National Committee’s scope of work. The AENC Board of Directors considers the committee’s interests and Advisory Group recommendations in the decision-making process.
Steering Committee for Standardization and Metrology:
The UAE’s Steering Committee for Standardization and Metrology, under MoIAT, aims to enhance standardization, foster effective cooperation between all relevant parties locally, recommend draft standards for approval, and enrich technical capabilities through training, consultancy and support programs.
The Standardization Management Committee (SMC) manages the UAE’s standardization requirements, safeguarding national interests, particularly by participating in international technical discussions to ensure that industries are protected against potential technical barriers. The committee keeps stakeholders informed on the latest developments in the field.

Is a national mirror committee for comparison, which aims to discuss and harmonize national standards with regional and global counterparts, as well as achieve a national consensus on international committee submissions.
Conformity Management Committee:
The Conformity Management Committee (CMC)
Manages national conformity assessment requirements. It ensures that the required conformity assessment infrastructure is established to protect local industries and consumers.
Capacity-Building Committee:
The Capacity Building Committee (CBC)
provides human resources/expertise for all AENC activities. The committee is tasked with developing programs and initiatives to enhance the role of standards and conformity assessment, as well as drive continued development, growth and competitiveness.
Advisory Group
The core function of the Advisory Group is to provide recommendations and expertise on all matters related to AENC requirements and conformity assessment projects. The group includes members, experts and representatives from various sectors including industrial development, government and academic regulators, traders, manufacturers, certification bodies, testing laboratories, consumers, accreditation bodies, and youth.
